Year 1915. The team of Kazan city.

In 30-s of the previous century in the Gorbunov factory a new football team was founded. Very rapidly it became one of the strongest clubs of Kazan city.

The name of the team, because it presented an armament establishment needed in some secret regime, has been changed often — «Lenin District Team», «Krylia Sovetov», «Iskra» and, finally, «Rubin».

Since 1936 till 1949 in championships of USSR Kazan was presented with the team of sports community «Dynamo». Among its achievements was a win in Group B of the Second Open Autumn Championship 1936 and USSR Cup 1937 Quarterfinal. But the season of 1949 became the last one for the team. It played unsuccessfully and disappeared. After that for about 10 years Kazan wasn’t being presented among professional teams of Soviet Union.

Year 1921.

Meanwhile, the factorials in 1948 the first ones of the republic teams started to participate in RSFSR Championship. At that time the team of Gorbunov factory was remarkable for its uncompromising character: in 1947 loosing to «Spartak» (Moscow) 2:6 during the match they could break the game to a draw. The leaders of the team at the end of 40-s — 50-s were famous Kazan footballers — Viktor Boikov, Aram Musailov, Grigory Runenkov, Ivan Noktikov, Konstantin Sundatov.

From 1948 to 1957 the factorials took third place 3 times and second place 6 times in Povolzhsk Zone of RSFSR Championship. In 1956 the team forced its way into the final stage, which was held in Grozny, but took just ninth of thirteen places in this tournament. The task of raising to the level of a professional team was set aside. As it soon turned out, not for a long period, indeed.
